The Greek Prime Minister, Lucas Papademos, has warned that failing to accept the EU's austerity measures would "set the country on a disastrous adventure".

Unemployment rose in the UK in the final quarter of last year by 118,000, leaving 2.685m people out of work.  Unemployment rose slightly in Scotland but decreased in Wales and Northern Ireland.  Clearly the devolved governments have a better handle on unemployment than the British government.

Thursday 15th December saw the final day of the Feltham and Heston by-election, with polling stations opening at 7am and a final push from UKIP activists to try and make Andrew Charalambous (above) a common sight as the new MP at Westminster.

 Yesterday saw the start of the final weekend of campaigning for the Feltham &amp; Heston by-election.

A ComRes poll for the Sunday Mirror and Independent on Sunday has UKIP ahead of the Lib Dems for the first time in a large national poll.

Steve was diagnosed with lung cancer earlier this year and sadly passed away yesterday afternoon.
